A new luxury aparthotel opens in Tunbridge Wells

Dining and kitchen area of the apartment

The Apartment, a new self-catering aparthotel in Tunbridge Wells is now open following a luxury restoration. A stone’s throw from the historic Pantiles, the new double-bedroom apartment was recently renovated by boutique hotel One Warwick Park and is their second aparthotel venture since the travel trend boomed post-COVID-19.

The Apartment which sleeps two guests and is dog-friendly is located on Cumberland Walk, an old path that conveniently links the High Street to The Pantiles.

Bookings can be made online and will cost guests from £225 per night.

Just a short walk from the main hotel which opened in 2016, The Apartment has been designed to offer guests the ideal home away from home and is suited for both business and leisure travels.

Boasting a free-flowing floor plan, The Apartment is spacious and airy and although features one double bedroom fit for two guests, has enough room for a small family when using the pull-out sofa bed.

The living area has plush soft furnishings, a flat-screen TV, and high-speed Wi-Fi and seamlessly flows into the dining area and marble kitchen which is fully equipped making for a convenient self-catered stay.

As the entire floor is open plan, the main living space connects to the bedroom which leads to a luxury bathroom.

The Apartment also has its own private courtyard, beautifully decorated with hanging baskets, garden mirrors and a picnic bench.

Interiors are light and bright and mirror One Warwick Park’s concept of ‘contemporary elegance’ where glamourous finishing touches can be found throughout the property.

Operations Director Nick Moore said: ‘Whilst The Apartment has everything you need for a relaxing self-catered stay, guests can still enjoy the luxury of the main hotel’.

Only a short walk away, guests staying at The Apartment can take advantage of the hotel’s restaurant and bar.

Named The Brasserie, the chic breakfast restaurant features a stunning atrium and contemporary décor and is a much-loved meeting place for locals and guests seeking morning coffee and delicious breakfast eats.

The menu includes breakfast favourites such as American pancakes and eggs royale plus vegan and vegetarian options.

On weekends The Brasserie also offers bottomless brunch. Available from 11 am – 2 pm guests can enjoy any dish from the menu plus bottomless prosecco, bellinis, bloody marys and mimosas for £34 per person.

Afternoon tea is also available to book and features classic sweet and savoury treats plus hot tea or a glass of bubbles which is served in The Brasserie’s atrium or the opulent art deco bar – another popular destination in town.

Providing the perfect setting for pre-dinner cocktails or after-work drinks, The Bar serves the best in British spirits, liqueurs, brews, and wines.

As well as eating and drinking in the hotel, guests staying in The Apartment have 24-hour access to the front desk and can take advantage of housekeeping if they wish.

The flexibility is ideal for those looking for long-term options – a trend One Warwick Park says has evolved quickly.

Operations Director Nick Moore said:

‘People are staying in one place longer – perhaps to work first and then relax on holiday.

‘Guests are therefore choosing accommodation they can live in, not just stay’

The trend appeared post-pandemic which saw the hospitality industry cripple, and whilst hotels worldwide suffered Airbnb remained profitable, accelerating the growth in extended-stay and serviced-apartment accommodation.

‘The demand is there and rising’ Nick said.

‘Both business and leisure travellers are looking for apartments with hotel-like experiences: premium amenities, complimentary toiletries, in-room entertainment, and facilities like bars and restaurants.

‘The Apartment at One Warwick Park appeals to both groups for this reason – the property gives people the flexibility to cherry-pick between the benefits of both hotels and self-catering accommodation’ Nick continued.

The aparthotel will be both a quiet, ‘home-from-home’ space for relocating professionals and a relaxing staycation destination for families, friends and couples wanting to soak up the growing number of activities in Tunbridge Wells.

As a Finalist in the Great British High Street Awards 2016 and 2018, The Pantiles is filled with boutique shops, local markets and al fresco dining spots plus bars and pubs.

The mainline train station is also a 10-minute walk away, providing direct transport into London.
