London Fashion Week takes place twice a year during February and September with the second Fashion week of the year commencing today. The event began in 1983 and sits within the ‘Big Four’ fashion weeks – Milan, New York, Paris and London. The trade show has a global audience consisting of dominant media, leading retailers and influential fashionistas. Each year over 250 designers showcase their new designs and this AW18 is set to make history by being the first significant fashion show with fur-free clothing. Let’s explore some of AW18’s fashion trends…

  • Leopard Print

Galloping into the spotlight are animal prints. Leopard and zebra prints are the trend and look striking when designed onto knee length coats. And of course, since Gucci announced they will no longer use fur and consequently influenced other luxury designers to do the same, these animal print pieces are faux fur.

  • Capes

The cape is a great representation of the recent prominent focus on empowering women in all areas of life such as politics, showbiz and fashion. Designers have emulated this societal trend in many different ways, from Saint Laurent who uses a structured look to Isabel Marant with the cosy blanket-feel cape.

  • Leather Dresses

The answer for the autumn catwalk this month is the leather dresses. From mini to maxi length dresses, the leather look allows fashionistas to dress like they mean business.

  • Silver

A Sci-Fi streak has arrived this fashion week with the introduction of a silver flare to our wardrobes. Whether it’s a dress, coat or a pair of shoes, the glowing silver designs are the new statement piece to any outfit.

On Tuesday 13th November, One Warwick Park will collaborate with Victoria Genevieve for an exclusive fashion event. Tickets are £40 and include interesting and useful talks, a welcome drink and a goody bag.
